Second Hand Toys
I know i'm a mum but its the times like waking up to find; babies finger stuck up your nose, a foot kicking you in the head or a head stuck in your arm pit that remind me.
There are too many toys in the world already. I only wanted cardboard boxes for baby to play with. Well I upgraded and decided only wood. This way we wouldnt have too many because they are expensive. Then somewhere along the way we ended up getting every toy under the sun. Sure he likes this one.... get it! then...
I discovered e-bay selling this cube which would be good for baby to learn to stand up on and play. Only it wasnt possible to buy the toy new. It was not made anymore. So this led into the realm of second hand toys. Fisher Price is turning out to be a fantastic brand new and second hand. I found one covered in dust at Salvation army store. After about half an hour of cleaning and sterilizing (consisting of wiping and getting rid of all dirt and dust with baby wet wipes) the toy was almost as good as new.
At mothers group all the toys are second hand and baby loves them. So the more the merrier and when they are so cheap why bother getting anything else? I was concerned about germs from the second hand toys but at mothers group after every session the toys are wiped with the baby wipes.
These remove all the germs i'm told and so far baby has returned every week from three months old without a cold or any virus. So as long as we clean the toys before we use them he should stay healthy.
